• Why in the world would a school system allow for a radical and racist group like MSAAC to control our ENTIRE educational system? Promoting a narrative that is hateful, false and belittling?
• Why in the world would a school system allow for a radical and racist group like MSAAC to change our educational structure for 93% of the student population?
• Why is there not another group at the table that has a different perspective? Why is this one sided?

MSAAC’s mission not only targets white people but THE ASIAN COMMUNITIES are being greatly impacted by these radicals. We need the Asian communities voices, we need to hear their anger, frustration, and how LCPS-MSAAC & CRT is impacting their children’s educational future. Now is the time to raise your voice and get involved. We cannot allow a group of racists to destroy our kids education and way of life.

We did it! We made it through the first month of virtual school. That is an accomplishment we can all be proud of. As we continue to navigate through this new way of living, it is important that we do not lose focus on the other areas in our lives that are cause for concern. This month we are focusing our attention on being anti-racist.  Anti-racism is a form of action against racism and the systemic racism and oppression of marginalized groups. Being antiracist is based on the conscious efforts and actions to provide equitable opportunities for all people on an individual and systemic level. 

IBRAM X. KENDI is one of America’s foremost historians and leading antiracist voices. He is a National Book Award-winning and #1 New York Times bestselling author. Kendi is the Andrew W. Mellon Professor in the Humanities and the Founding Director of the Boston University Center for Antiracist Research. Kendi is a contributor writer at The Atlantic and a CBS News correspondent. He is also the 2020-2021 Frances B. Cashin Fellow at the Radcliffe Institute for the Advanced Study at Harvard University. In 2020, Time magazine named him one of the 100 most influential people in the world. 

It is Kendi’s belief that being anti-racist requires persistent self-awareness, constant self-criticism, and regular self-examination.  

At MSSAC, we believe the self-examination part is critical to moving in the direction of sustained equity for all. It is for that reason I am challenging everyone reading this to participate in the 30-day Anti-Racist Table challenge.

The Anti-Racist Table was created in response to the Racial Reckoning in America, to bring anti-racism into daily life as a daily practice. I HOPE YOU WILL COMMITT TO TAKING THE CHALLENGE WITH ME! What awaits you is allyship, abolition, co-conspiratorship, and the dismantling of racism in yourself, your family, your community, your school, and your workplace.

Join MSAAC for a timely and relevant Anti-Racism and Town Hall on Wednesday, XXXXXXXXX. We will hear a presentation by Cassandra Stanley, Ed.D., Assistant Director of the VCU School of Education’s Office of Strategic Engagement, which is currently offering a professional learning series on Becoming an Anti-Racist Educator. We will also be joined by a number of local LCPS and community leaders as guest panelists for the discussion.
