They aren’t even trying to hide the fact that they want nothing to do with accountability when it comes to the implementation of the hive-mind, collectivist, group-think, politically charged social emotional learning that has infected all of our LCPS schools, whether your child is a kindergartener or graduating senior.
On October 14th, Dr. Orme and her activist squad shared a pre-recorded training, outlining how SEL and the Second Step curriculum, taught at the elementary and middle school level, will provide students with the skills they need to be successful. Forget about the family helping their children develop a moral compass, social skills, and integrity! The “Doctor” and these ladies know far more about what your children need. Simply reinforce what THEY are teaching your children at school and then you’ll be a good parent.
What they conveniently omitted from the training, however, is that the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL) updated its framework in 2020 with a vision to claw their way into our precious children’s minds and activate their socio-political development through “transformative SEL.”
They also didn’t share any of the colorful key terms and phrases peppered throughout this insidious curriculum that LCPS wants drilled into your children’s heads ad nauseam: “All lives do not matter and never have, sex assigned at birth, gender expression, intersectionality, activism, civic engagement, police brutality, pain, hurt, trauma, murder, anxiety, triggers, intense anger, rage, negative energy, racial injustice, white fragility, personal and collective experiences of racism, and microaggressions,” just to name a few. Now, I am not an elitist doctor like Lindsay, but I do have enough sense to know that our children’s repeated exposure to this garbage will not positively transform their mental well-being as Committee for Children would have you believe.
A few weeks ago, Dr. Orme seemed quite joyful in her proclamation of the use of the many anti-racism resources found within the Second Step program, such as Imagine Neighborhood, where one can find a disgusting podcast with Ibram X. Kendi telling young children that we live in a racist society where people with darker skin are told they are less than. Oddly enough, once the public became aware of the “Doctor’s” SEL posts on her Twitter page, she closed her account.
Additionally, she has told concerned parents that she is unaware of any social justice-oriented materials associated with the Second Step curriculum. This is hard to believe, considering Dr. Lying Lindsay Orme is a contributing group member of the Culturally Responsive Framework for LCPS on the “High Expectations and Rigorous Instruction” team. Dr. Orme, please tell the public, is rigorous instruction defined as hammering children over the head with “intergenerational injuries, white privilege, white supremacy, racialized trauma, anti-blackness, barriers, exclusions, oppression, whiteness is viewed as beautiful, superior, intelligent, blackness is viewed as incompetent, ugly, deviant, different, implicit bias, Kimberle Crenshaw, Ibram X. Kendi, Robin D’Angelo, Derrick Bell, inequitable, hostile, assaults, belittlement, and hatred?” The LCPS community is riddled with lowly parents who need to hear it from the experts. They are counting on you, Dr. Orme.
