Just when we thought we were done, LCPS and Professor Zeigler pull us back in! For those not familiar, way back in October 2020, the LCPS School Board had the opportunity to vote for Policy #7560 “Professional Conduct”. They could have vote up or down, but instead chose to defer or “place on the back burner”. This proposal, was updated/modified/concocted but the one and only Professor Zeigler, current interim superintendent. This proposed policy really was the accelerant to the onslaught of negative national news for LCPS, that is still quite alive and well today, and there will be more coming!
One of the primary updates to Policy #7560 “Professional Conduct” that caused rightful outrage was: “Any comments that are not in alignment with the school division’s commitment to action-oriented EQUITY PRACTICES” would be subject to punishment, if the draft policy was passed. Well, here we are in April 2021, just (6) short months later and guess what? Being placed on the “back burner” did not mean that this EXTREME proposal was dead, however it did allow Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde (Prof. Zeigler) enough time to work on a revised version that will likely be longer but is meant to be intentionally vague.
Knowing that Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde (Prof. Zeigler) is a profound believer in “Equity” at any cost, PACT fully expects this revised policy to be very ambiguous and intentionally subjective. In short, this will allow LCPS to fly under the radar to carry out the disgraceful “revised/updated” policy. In all fairness, we have not seen the draft version or the final product but when Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde (Prof. Zeigler) is using “Equity Policies” from the Oakland School district and Montgomery, MD as his guide, it’s fair to say it won’t be well received.
