Another Virginia Department of Education Scam: “African American History”, Yup Learning for Justice…Again

Do I have a problem with African American History? Nope, not at all. We can all stand to learn from each other like the good ole’ days. However, Virginia’s new “African American History” is not without an agenda. Sure there’s some worthwhile African American historical points in this curriculum but any of its legitimacy is completely shot to hell when:

  • It is connected/tied to CASEL’s 5 C’s (proficiency required for students to graduate HS)
  • Ensuring “these tenets are met” include:
  • Michelle Thomas, President of Loudoun NAACP and Loudoun Freedom Center is involved
  • Newly appointed (1/3/22) VA Superintendent of Public Instruction Rosa Atkins in involved
  • It is based on adaptations from Learning for Justice (Southern Poverty Lawn Center org) “Hard History” (Hard History is in LCPS elementary schools”
  • It is based on ANYTHING that involves Ibram Kendi
  • Is centered around equity, race, racism, implicit bias, stereotypes, bias & stigmas
  • Is centered around the phony “1619 Project”

This “new” African American History written by the most radical and hateful people should be high on the list of curriculum to be removed from our schools. Again, for the haters, I’m NOT advocating to NOT teach African American History, just don’t teach it using ANY of the red flags mentioned above or all the others buried within this pervasively twisted “curriculum” to warp the minds of ALL of our kids.
